Until Their Ruin

There have been some rumbling within the Belgian black metal scene for some while now, but often has the releases been mediocre. A new band has now seen the light of the day, in the oh so sinister country. The band Nartvind is ready with their first length, I guess. The band has found a lot of inspiration in the distorted world of Burzum. Repeating guitar riffs, cruel vocals and sinister atmospheres. That is not always a bad combination, even though the only thing Nartvind is bringing the music, are some cruel melodies. They are not delivering a bad effort at all. The sound is the typical 'true' black metal sound. Raw, un-precise and battered, but man, the production is doing its job. It is giving full justice to the music. Besides that does the sinister sound, add darkness and coldness to the Belgianís material. If you often are enjoying the old crowned Burzum albums and has a tendency towards old and dusty Darkthrone, then is this the album of the year. A big ass full of unoriginal black metal, with tons of noisy nostalgic references, thatís not bad, once in a while!

Nocturnal DK

A Danish metalhead on the way to become old, enjoys most types of metal, though brutality and darkness are mostly preferred,  and too modern takes on metal are not always positively looked upon. Have been writing about metal for 10 years in own and at other publications as Fishcomcollective, Ancient Ceremonies, Northern Shadows and now Corazine and the upcoming Terror Propaganda (might have forgotten a few, come and kick my arse!).
