Arsebreed's back with a restocked line-up, now featuring members of Disavowed, Pyaemia and Mangled: I expected the new album to kick (my) ass, and it did. "Technical US brutal death metal" indeed, although more technical than anything else. With relentless, mind-assaulting and almost psychotic riffs and constructions, Arsebreed proves itself to be skilled and very much above average. Although several groovy bits offer a break from the intense rage, and the roots of brutal deathmetal are recognisable, the overall style doesn't strike me as chunky or crushing. In other words, this is not your average deathmetal album: if you like technical and non-stop crazy stuff, play this disc and hold on to your chair.
