Stoned and Confused

Shamelessly vulgar and shameless about his shamelessness, Alligator Dave is all about some sex, some drugs and a bit of rock and roll too. With track titles like Eager Beaver, Spank My Monkey, Stoned and Confused, Pussa-Pussa, Stoned Avengers, etc., you can guess right where Alligator Dave is coming from. One thing that's so impressive about him is the speed with which he delivers his lyrics at times. I swear he must practice his ass of a lot or get really stoned before recording ... yeah, that must be it. A lot of the humor with Dave comes from more than just the, well, eager vulgarity itself but the juxtaposition of the blithe, happy-sounding music (which I will describe as something akin to minimalist ska - kinda, sorta - ONLY for the purpose of giving you some idea what Dave does with his guitar over which he sings and speaks). Here he is just guitaring along, groovin' playin' some ska, or some old style rock, or whatever, but he's singing along (you can almost imagine a huge shit-eating grin) about giving head, or getting it, or about getting high or drinking and ... well, it's kind of hard to describe this. Even if you don't like ska-ish music (you know that funky guitar beat ska uses, that's why I keep going back to ska ... even though it's not ... it's basically just the guitar playing so the vulgarity has something to sing along to ... whew! neverfuckingmind) you should check Dave out. He's funny as hell. And, anyway, it's what he's saying as much as how he's saying it. Oh, fuck it. I can't describe this shit. Just buy the fucking CD.
