Semper Tyranis

AD plays good, ol’ metal, oh yeah! It’s hard to limit this band’s music to one genre only. The (splendid) vocals are founded on thrashy rawness but occasionally shift to grunts and clean singing, both equally powerful. Musically, I’m sporadically reminded of bands like Grave Digger and the likes, but mostly I’m simply enjoying the songs as they are, instead of comparing. This is a band with an own style, consisting of compelling riffs and rocking groove. For a debut album the effort isn’t bad at all, but there’s generally speaking some room for improvement (and I know the band certainly has the capacities to lift themselves to a higher level, which would rock, too). Perhaps not "real" 80s metal as some would like, but whatever, just give this album a listen. You never know, right?
