This Italian formation is labeled 'schizo deathmetal' – to be honest, I expected something inbetween Necrophagist and Psychofagist. Perhaps to my surprise, it's nothing extremely resembling to either one of those bands. Infernal Poetry sticks to mid-tempo groove instead of high speed blasting, in fact, brutality isn't really an eminent factor as well (the main riffs in "The next is mine" for example, are quite 'soft', so to speak). Still, the 'schizo' tag must have its origin, and I can see where it comes from: this band has its own conventions when it comes to songwriting. Not afraid to experiment with shrieking melodies, distortions all around, and rhythms, Infernal Poetry produces quite a few 'oddities' in their songs – unorthodox and unexpected. While some might find this MCD not interesting due to the missing brutality and coherence, others will love its specific style and non-standard approach. Something to decide for yourself. Oh yes, there are some videoclips on the MCD as well – in fact, those (earlier) songs are more deathmetal oriented, to say the least. Very cool stuff.
